House of Science

We are proud to have partnerships with the House of Science – Waikato branch and the National House of Science.

The House of Science is a charitable trust founded by biochemist and science teacher Chris Duggan in 2013.  It aims to provide schools with high quality bi-lingual science resources that empower primary and intermediate teachers to deliver engaging, hands-on science lessons in the classroom.  It has over 600 schools taking part in the initiative nationwide.

You can find out more about the House of Science here.

The Trust sees the importance of children getting a good grounding and understanding of science as crucial to the how the next generation will innovate lead Aotearoa and the primary sector into the future.

AgYields National Database

A central library housing all of New Zealand’s historic and future pasture and crop growth and yield data, accessible to all, was the vision for Lincoln University’s Professor Derrick Moot.

The Agyields database has come to fruition thanks the forward thinking of Professor Moot, and we are proud to provide funding for this initiative.

Professor Moot, who has dedicated his career to the advancement of pasture in New Zealand, got to thinking about what would happen to the vast amounts of data he has amassed over his career on his retirement.

Although he says no retirement is imminent, he wanted to future proof his work, and the work of others.
